Develops processes and procedures to ensure that Commonwealth meets regulatory standards
Monitors retirement industry regulatory trends related to ERISA, DOL, and the SEC.
Has over 20 years of experience in the retirement industry, including 10 years working in recordkeeping and 10 years overseeing the Retirement department at a professional employer organization
Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Rochester and holds his American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries, Qualified 401(k) Administrator, and Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor designations

Manager, Strategic Retirement Solutions
Kara joined Commonwealth in October 2022. In this role, Kara is responsible for the marketing & communications strategy and programs within Strategic Retirement Solutions as we strive to provide indispensable expertise, high-quality solutions, and innovative resources to advisors. Her focus is refining and enhancing our existing marketing & communications strategy and programs as well as developing new strategies and initiatives in the retirement space. Prior to Commonwealth, Kara worked at MassMutual Investments, Loomis Sayles, Wellington, Fidelity, and John Hancock Funds. She holds an M.B.A. and B.A from Boston College.

Supervisor, Retirement Investment Solutions
Manages the due diligence process for Commonwealth’s Retirement Plan Investment Recommended List, which serves as a key resource to the firm’s advisors, by ensuring coverage across key asset classes and share classes for mutual funds, comingled trusts, stable value products, and target-date portfolios.
Works on the PlanAssist Investment Management program performing manager due diligence and investment selection
Holds FINRA Series 7, 6, and 63 securities registrations and a Massachusetts and California life/variable insurance license
